Vegan leather that is natural produced from crosslinking bacterial cellulose, plant proteins and food additives. The company creates a homogenous gel from the ingredients which are then poured into a mold and baked at 125C (257 F) for 4-5 hours until a film is formed. The film is coated with a thin layer of paraffin. The resulting material is strong, soft, flexible and can be sewn like leather. The material can be customized in size and thickness by adjusting the mold. It is sold as a sheet 28 cm x 37 cm (11 in x 15 in) and a thickness between 1-1.5 mm (0.04-0.06 in). Applications include apparel for fashion and accessories.
